Aviation Heritage
Aviation enthusiasts of all ages, from all over the world, flock to Lincolnshire to visit "Bomber" County. Heritage Centres and Memorial Sites are dotted all over Lincolnshire, which was home to almost 50 airbases during the 1940's, more than any other county in Britain.
The Lincolnshire Aviation Centre at East Kirkby, contains a wealth of nostalgic memorabilia, including the "Taxiing" Lancaster "Just Jane", an original Control Tower and many displays including the Barnes Wallis Bouncing Bomb.
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight based at Coningsby, a fully operational air base. Get close up to Britain's only flying Lancaster along side the Hurricanes and Spitfires.
Lincolnshire is home to the famous "Red Arrows", our panoramic skies provide a wonderful backdrop for rehearsals.
